This is outside the realm of writing, but this blog is mine and I can do what I want with it!
My nephew, Broxton Taylor, has been diagnosed with the infantile type of Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis (INCL), also known as Batten Disease. He is only 18 months old. After developing at a typical rate during his first year Broxton began regressing, losing his ability to speak and the full range of movement. Since December 2010, with the help of an army of doctors, Broxton’s parents have been trying to find out what is wrong with their little boy. On June 23, 2011 they received the awful truth. This disease is fatal, extremely rare, and there is no known cure.
